2004 Report

2005 Update:
Polished RHP who is a diff. guy now that he's healthy. Perfect pitchers build. XL frame, strong.
High pockets. Not much projection left in body. Still works across his body but arm is notic. more
free and easy after he stabs his wrist down out of his glove. Could stand to do a better job of
keeping his weight back in his deliv. Backside releases very well despite restricted landing. Hard
strong avg cut to FB is prob more of a result of a loop in his direc. towards plate but it helps him.
Heavy sinking FB is thrown too much towards center of plate but movement makes it hard for
hitters to center it.  Fringe Avg SL would be better if not for below avg command. Bit soft but true
and sharp. Hangs too many of them and when he gets hit it's typ. hanging SL variety. Gd deliv.
and armspd on CH. Sucks it back a bit. Solid if unspectacular assortment, lacks true out pitch to
see him as a true short reliever. Would like to see same, consis. FB every night out-been used
heavily and arm looks to be tiring. Throws strikes and has hair on pitches to miss some bats if he
locates. He's a fringy big leaguer for me, should get some time but not as an everyday member of a
staff. Old for league, should be pushed quick to see if something is gonna happen.
