| Comments: Competitive RHP. Large workhorse build. Classic pitchers body, country strong. Pretty thick and heavy around midsection. Built similar to Ryan Drese. Gd balanced setup on top of rubber. Hds over head. Upper body rushes. Tucks hip which creates some funk also restricts arm from getting all the way thru. Very little lower body in delivery with closed landing and hip swings around low and with no force. Arm is long and very loose in back. Ball comes out of hand easily. Consis. arm slot works well. Not very quick arm. Some funk w/hip pause and pause w/arm in back. Occ. gets underneath FB. Sneaky fast, can pitch up in zone. Has more in him but don't know if it's going to come with lack of lower 1/2 in deliv. @ best he flashes plus command of FB but more often it's in the 45-50 range. FB has lots of life up in zone and generates good downhill action onf FB. Will touch some 95's but sits in the 91-92 range. CV is big true 11-5 bender. Velo is inconsis. and depth struggles as he fails to stay on top. Generally shows gd feel and should develop into a strong avg offering. CH projects as avg down road. GD feel and more consis than other pitches. Not a lot of movement on it but he stops it (slows it down) pretty well. Misses are safely down in zone and shows lots of confid. with it. Tenacious competitor who will drop hitters on their ass. I was honestly expecting more power from him and less feel than I got.Works to both sides of plate and has no fear of going inside. I wonder if he'll have same control (by no means great right now) if he goes after everything a little more. Stuff is a bit underwhelming, by no means front of the rotation stuff but he'll get most out of what he has and looks like a solid #4 starter, maybe a #5 guy for a good team. |
