Counry strong 1B with plus plus raw power. Large frame, thick and heavy in legs and rear. Soft
midsection. Sets up open with hds low @ plate. Load doesn't put him in a good position to attack
ball. Closes himself off and bars with makes it tough for him to handle anything in on the hands.
Low follow thru. Most of his power is the other way. Doesn't look like he sees the ball well out
of pitchers hand. Looks lost on quality breaking ball. Swings and misses too much. Below avg BS.
Power will be his ticket to upper minors. Light tower power all parts of park. Excellent strength,
takes healthy hack. Undisciplined approach at plate for his age. Clogger on bases. Doesn't move
well laterally and hands are below avg at best. Arm strength playable for 1B. Will be below avg
defensively, not going to be able to play 3rd like many had hoped. Simply won't make contact
enuf to have a big league future. May run into even more power with a refined approach, he is
looking like a poor mans Graham Koonce. Not quite in the Phil Hiatt and Russ Branyan echalon
of perennial AAA sluggers but he should be good for 20HR/yr @ the AAA provided he doesn't
strike out too much on his way up.
