Catch and throw backstop who doesn't provide much offense. Athletic med. frame. Resembles
Brad Ausmus. Needs to find consis. setup and swing if he wants to be anything more than a
streaky hitter. Brings a new stance to the park every series. Best setup comes with hds held
loose and low, if he starts his hds high he immed. drops them down and as a result struggles to
hit top 1/2 of ball. Some waggle and wrapping behind head gets him long and creates problems
centering ball. Wristy swing lacks whip. Steep uppercut from dropped hds and back shoulder
creates some towering pop ups but is of little aid in making 40 raw power play. Won't hit for
avg or power. Below avg arm is helped by quick release and ft but is very scatter shot with
throws, very few land on bag. Throws sinkers with min. carry to second but will catch some
guys with his release. Gd hds, not esp. flexible but moves well laterally. Cheats with ft with
runners on base. Plays hard and appears to handle a staff ok. Shuld improve throwing acc. a bit.
Glove not special enuf to make him more than an org. player. Bat will have serious problems @
AA level which should be his ceiling.
