C who gets better every time he plays. Stocky build, not esp. athletic. Even prop. Some extra
weight, will need to watch it.. Massive legs. Built similar to Ramon Hernandez. Short swing lends
itself to clean contact. Sets up a bit wide with pinched knees. Hds @ shoulder with back elbow
up. Generates avg batspd with gd whip from snappy wrists. Ball comes off extra loud. Backspin.
Much of power is to pull side but goes other way with ease. Jumps a ball @ times leaving him off
balance but generally sits back well. Solid avg raw should play in the 10-15HR range/yr @ ML
level. Advanced understanding of strike zone. WBA runner who will prob. slow down a tick.
Improved tremendously on defensive side during first 1/2. Arm imrpoved to plus with gd carry
thru bag. Early on got in trouble with low arm slot which robbed him of both accuracy and
strength. Still a bit shaky with accuracy but with strides he's made so far there should be little
doubt that it will come. Release and transfer could be cleaned up as well. Hds have improved as he
has learned how to handle what is prob. the best collection of pure arms on one team in all of
minor league basebal, not an easy task.. No longer fighting balls. Not dropping any balls. Lateral
agility has improved and blocking has become more instinctive for him. Occ. comes out of crouch
early on late breaking breaking balls. Gd all around player without any flash. Chance to become
solid everyday catcher.
