Comments:
Good bodied 1B who has the athleticism to play LF as well. Strong, chiseled frame with great
lower 1/2. Sets up open with low hands and back elbow up. Generates fringy avg bat spd but
takes lots of time to get hands moving from low setup and slow first move. Approach is to push
the ball away towards LF.  At Smooth, balanced swing, classic low ball hitter who can pound a
soft mistake. Line drive orriented swing right now due to low finish and tendency to pull off the
ball. Quality AB's. Good adjustments within AB's for a young hitter and is actually better hitter
late in count. Controls zone. Too many holes right now, being fed a steady diet of hard stuff
underneath hands and with CH and SL on the outer half. Fringy runner who will end up below
avg as he fills out. Moves around the bag nicely and shows soft hands. Below avg but accurate
arm. Could move to LF if needed and be an adequate presence. Is not going to hit for 1B or left
field power and I don't see the avg being John Olerud like. He's a LH bat off the bench in the mold
of a John Mabry, may be up and down between AAA and ML level. Should head back to the Cal
League next year.
