Undersized righty with some pretty large stuff. Small frame, lean. Strong arms. Athletic body built
like MIF. Sturdy build but obvious durability questions with size and history. Built similar to
Mike Koplove. Easy deliv. hints of more velocity as he regains his strength. Some shoulder and
lower 1/2 restriction. Shows arm in back. Hip tuck closes him off and leads to an across body
landing. Not esp. loose. Arm works well in back. Short out of hd break, fingers stay on top of ball
well. Quick arm. Easy avg FB w/sink actually looks a bit light. Throws to both sides of plate but
will back off it to hit spots leading to some questions about control. Overhand slot creates sink
and allows him to spin true 12-6 CV. Flashes plus bite in pen but didn't see it in game. Needs
some consis. to, prob has more to do with layoff than any real lack in quality of pitch or deliv. Gd
arm spd and deliv. deception on avg CH. Comes out a bit firm but has some lat life to it. Does a
relativ. solid job of staying down thru his pitches and avoiding the flatness many smaller pitchers
fight. Doesn't have a great history of throwing strikes, has always walked some guys. Doesn't
miss loads of bats. Can pitch though, will always fight undersize righty stigma. For me he's a 4A
arm who very well could get some time @ ML level in long relief for an org. who value P/abil. and
feel-like Oakland.
