Big righty who lives off funk/deception. XL frame is bigger than he appears on the mound.
Durable build. Lots of moving parts. Phonebooth delivery, small step to side and then lifts leg
and hands high up next to his head as he turns towards the plate. Comes at a tough angle. Body
moves from 1B to 3B, doesn't help command. Tricky tempo in delivery. Hides the ball well in
back. Finishes nicely out in front. Minimal effort. FB inconsis. will flirt with 90 on occ. but
comfort zone is 86-88. Generates good sink and misses some bats with FB. Command with FB is
far from pinpoint but he can throw strikes. Spins a CV well from his directly over the top slot
and throws it with avg velo. Bite inconsis. Doesn't finish CV nearly as well as he does his FB
which leaves it up and takes some of his vertical depth away from him. SPL serves as CH and
was below avg for me at best. Funk will only take him so har. Stuff is pretty generic and
command mediocre. Will be 25 years old next year and I see him having a diff. time adjusting to
the refined approaches of AA hitters. Is what he is. Org. player.
