Comments:
Bad bodied hitter without position. Stubby fire hydrant build. Resembles Matt Stairs. More
athletic than he looks. Sets up open with bat flat on shoulder. Generates fringy avg bat spd but
has a knack for making clean consis. contact. HDS will be a bit slow for plus stuff. GD balanced
swing. Controls strike zone very well. Trouble picking up CH out of hand. Can go other way
with ease but most of his strength is to the pull side. Excellent approach at plate. Stays within
himself and with his game plan which quite simply is to wait for his pitch and when he gets it
unload. Hitting tools play slightly below avg but if he can take his approach with him as he
moves up he has a chance to hit for avg avg and strong avg (20 HR) power. Doesn't have a true
defensive home. Solid arm strength in OF but looks lost @ times and will never be more than
below avg either in OF or at first. Will be looked at as a LH bat off the bench at the big league
level, he should excell as a pinch hitter due to his approach but I wouldn't hesitate to let him play
and hit over an extended period of time due to an injury or if he is riding a hot streak.
