Liver armed convert. Great athlete with position player and football background. Sculpted large
frame with strong hds and lower 1/2. Deliv. work in progress. Max effort with scary spin off. Big
head jerk makes it diff. for him to locate. Quick arm in back but slot ranges all over. Rushes. Much
of the mech. issues can be expected with such a new pitcher but I had hoped with his athleticism
he'd be able to do a better job of repeating his deliv. with less effort. He's really just throwing out
there. Plus FB hurt by loc. up in strike zone. No feel. Sits @ 92.FB not special enuf to get away
with elevating, better hitters will turn it around with ease. Unintentional movement w/FB as he
tries to get comfortable with his release. Will cut some and others tail wildly. Can baby SL over
plate but loses control if he goes after it. Sharp @ times. Has to throw it hard if he wants to keep
it from becoming a slurve but can't loc. @ higher velo. Stopper CH has no sink to it but he gets
some tail and pause towards plate. Should throw more than he does in order to refine it. Walking a
lot of guys right now but also K'ing many. Expect K's to slide as better hitters start laying off
pitches up and out of zone and walks spiking. It's a gd arm but it's not 95+. Deliv. raises questions
about health and ability to ever throw consis. strikes. Arm strength should allow him to become a
AA org. arm. Should spend next yr in Cal League.
