Comments:
Toolsy player short on intensity. Strong large frame with narrow upper body. Built like Jeff
Kent. Strong in wrists and hands. Bars with front arm and gets long on occ. but hands are quick
enuf to stay inside ball despite bar. Easy avg BS with gd extension and lift out front with high
follow thru. Loose easy swing. Centers ball well and can drive ball in gap when he wants to. Bit
to linear for me, feet too jumpy in box. Would like to see him quiet down a bit. Very GD hand
eye. Doesn't make adjustments during AB's. Near plus raw power doesn't play in games. Length
in swing hurts him and doesn't sit back as well as he should but can get away with it at lower
levels due to hands eye coordination but front foot approach will be exploited as he moves up.
Runs avg under way, smooth easy strides but there is no effort or fire in his running or any of his
playing for that matter. No desire to push for the extra base. Solid avg arm strength with
accuracy. Lazy hands and limited range will keep him out of the middle infield and he will need
lots of work to handle the hot corner. Laid back approach on D, no interest in getting dirty or
charging hard on a slow roller. Would be better suited for corner OF spot if his bat lived up to
expectations but I have a hard time envisioning him putting the time in to become even near
adequate, he's shown nothing so far. Bonus will keep him around @ org level.
