2004 Report

2005 Update:
3B who is a thief. Has talent and flashes tools but plays on cruise control. Athletic body.
Similar to Jeff Kent. Has lost all intensity in swing. Lazy hds. Not barring as much in swing
which creates a shorter path to ball but batspd has disappeared. Sits down into his swing
which gets him under ball and imparts a lot of topspin. On occ. he lets hds go with some
authority he gets longer to ball as bat head sweeps out and around. Swings thru lots of balls.
Gd balance. Still flashes avg raw power when he wants to but won't play to more than 5-10HR
@ upper levels provided he gets there. Never shows off arm, still has 50 in him but plays
down to 40 in games. Loose and easy A/A would give him solid accuracy which he flashed last
yr. Soft hds, footwork is solid and athleticism helps make up for below avg range. Won't dive
and get dirty. Can make routine play as long as he's focused, get's careless @ times. Can fill in
@ SS and be serviceable. Not an everyday player in A ball. Should get back to AA next yr in a
utility role but I can't see him goiong any further. It's really sad with all the talent he has.
