Offensive orriented 2B with chance to be a regular. Compact med. build with strong hds.
Resembles Mark Bellhorn. Gd swing. Sets up crouched with hds @ shoulder level and back
elbow up. Slightly open. Smooth load, some bat wrap but doesn't seem to interfere. Short swing
limits holes. Solid avg to slightly above bat spd. Centers every ball. Comes off loud. Gets hds
thru ball very well and shows abilty to spray balls to all fields with something behind them. Solid
avg raw power should turn into game production. Slight uppercut. Solid understanding of strike
zone. Gd AB's, BB pitch recog. could use some work. Likes to jerk balls middle in and how well
he handles getting pitched away from that will determine what kind of hitter he is. Has shown all
signs of making quality adjustments to this point. Other parts of game lag behind. Below avg
runner who should develop avg instincts on bases.Needs work with glove, will prob. never be
more than below avg presence with leather and needs work to get there. Stiff and mechanical at
times. Lacks pure MIF instincts and actions. Hds too firm. Needs work turning DP. 40 arm limits
him to 2B. Despite defensive shortcomings he should hit enuf to make glove problems an
afterthought. Chance to be solid everyday 2B capable of .270-280 with 15-20HR. Should spend
next yr @ AAA level.
