Defensive orriented 3B with some power potential. Body looks the part. Strong evenly prop.
Resembles Mark Teahen. Steep uppercut swing with inconsis. contact. Gets beat by FB after FB.
Sets up open but strides back square. Toe tapping swing similar to Xavier Nady. Gd rythm with
some whip. Gets too long once hds get back as he casts bat out away from him and has trouble
handling inner 1/2 of plate as a result. Hard line drives to all fields if it comes together. Gets in
trouble if he starts hooking and getting long against breaking balls. too many holes. Lots of raw
power (60)towards middle of field will be hard pressed to play much better than 40. Too much
topspin from steepness in games. Chance to be plus defender. Does it very easy and has requisite
tools. Solid arm strength produces gd carry and accuracy despite chicken wing A/A. Smooth
reactions and soft hands. Getting away with bailing open to his left on hard hit balls right now
because his hds are so gd but as game speeds up he'll prob. be forced to stay square longer and
wear it. Dives with ease and shows agility and athleticism moving in on balls. Bat won't be enuf to
be everyday 3B. While a good defender @ 3B his utility value is not as much as he'd be hard
pressed to play up middle.. Looks like a quality 4A player, should move on to AA next yr.
