Strong chest and shoulders. Thick legs and rear. Baby Matt Stairs build. More athletic than he
looks. Serious hand strength. Lift and seperate guy @ plate with solid to plus bat spd. Flappy
back elbow. Hds set @ letters. Ball comes off bat very well. Clean, consis. contact. Gd hand path,
short to ball and long high finish after lends itself to serious lift and raw power. Plus raw has a
chance to play due to advanced all fields approach. Very good at bats with solid understanding of
strike zone. Sits back and waits well which allows him to take same swings late in AB as he does
early. Rarely fooled or off balance. Strength plays to all fields. Active receiver who thrives off
controlling game and running a staff. Hds. are soft, occ. tries to frame a little too much. Has
flexibilty to sit wide low but gets lazy @ times or legs bother him. Bit to aggressive to block
straight down, could stand to be a bit softer and more controlled towards ball in order to deaden it
better. Likes to show off his avg arm and quick release with picks and pitchouts. Acc. should be
solid avg. Plus makeup guy out everyday for early hitting and exudes enthusiasm for his craft.
Chance to be solid to plus everyday catcher who can handle defensive responsibilities while
providing near plus offensive numbers. Should split next year between AA and AAA.
