Comments:
Savvy little player with bigger tools. Undersized body. Wiry strong. Some width to frame may
allow him to thicken up. Physically similar to Brian Roberts coming out of college. Balanced
and smooth swing from left side of plate. Hds set @ ear w/high back elbow. Drops hds a bit as
he moves them back but still gets hds in proper hitting position as he moves towards ball.
Short quick hd path with avg batspd. Sq. ball up and makes gd contact. Ball doesn't jump off
bat. Spray approach, uses his hds well but occ. drifts out early and lacks pure BS to catch up
with his body and stay back. RH swing is much more agg. and effort oriented. Swings hard and
shows less feel for bathead, contact is harder albeit more inconsis. Below avg raw power @
best right now. Power should be of gap variety to tune of 8-12HR/yr. Strong avg runner who is
plus under way but gets out of box a bit slow. Runs very hard. Wild defender with minimal
smoothness to game. Strong avg arm. Accuracy is mediocre right now. Has one speed to
defensive game and it will really hurt his consis. Has tools to let game come to him but tries to
do too much. Rushes throws and picking up GB's that he simply doesn't need to with his
quality set of hds. Has feet to play SS for a while but unless he proves to be able to make
routine play he'll be forced across bag where he should be an avg defender. Doesn't do anything
with ease. Needs to trust his tools more. Based on limited look he's a fringy player for me, @
best a Mark Ellis type career of but that may be a bit of a reach. Should spend next yr in High
A.
