Hulking LHH with power. Strong build. Built like Jeremy Giambi, fills uniform out well with
large chest, arms and strong lower 1/2. Phys. mature. Sets up a tad open, slight crouch, strides
closed and drops hands inside the ball well. Lower 1/2 works well in swing. Line drive stroke with
easy lift and extension out front. Centers ball well and comes off clean and sharp. BS is fringy avg
for me, never got around on a good FB underneath hands. Flat out blown away at times. Streaky
hitter who can get hot. Quality SL can make him look bad. Chases up in zone. Doesn't control
strike zone like you would expect from a mature A's prospect. Swings and misses too much. Will
be vulnerable to LH pitching as he moves up ladder, closed off stride and present difficulties to
get thru anything with a cut into his hands will be problematic. Power tough to walk away from.
Plus raw power plays solid avg. No projection left in bat, simply has to stay healthy. Mediocre
runner. Adequate defensively on the corners. Solid arm strength is fringy for RF but nothing that
can be exploited. Capable routes and angles. Can play 1B without issues. Will never hit for high
avg @ ML level. Should have difficulty adjusting to better pitching @ higher levels. He's more of
a 4A player for me, role @ ML level would be in LH bat off bench/4th OF'er. Bounce around a bit
from AAA to ML level.
