Comments:
Sinker SL righty with chance to have fringy control and pile up K's. Very gd athlete with history
as two way player. Big guy with high waist and developed lower 1/2. Country strong. Gets excel.
deception by closing his hip off over rubber and short athletic A/A in back. Quiet head with gd
body line towards center of plate. Lands a bit hard on heel which creates a little bounce with his
upper body and head late. Sinking Avg FB has late life down in zone. Varying slot creates some
inconsis. and he has a bit of a hard time staying on top, leaving to some elevated FB's, hitters are
getting some gd swings on them as evidenced by high fly ball rate but there's enuf velo and late life
that A ball hitters aren't hurting him-will need to get better as he moves up. Sweeping SL has a
chance to be better than avg. Sharp and nasty-potential strike out pitch. Struggles to control it
right now, but command is solid inside strike zone. Some SPL action on cambio. With limited
pitching experience you can project on him with feel for breaking ball and CH despite age. Misses
tons of bats, tons of K's and few hits-BB is only enemy. Don't see 8th or 9th inning FB or control
but he should be a useful short reliever. Looks like he can safely be pushed to AAA for all of next
yr.
