Comments:
Older righty with some pitchability but lost FB due to injuries. Large frame, thick. Not the most
athletic movements. Arm runs down back leg, hooks slightly and arm takes a long and stiff path
back up. Delivery solid otherwise, repeats well. FB just not there, sits 84 most nights, sometimes
well lower. Falls behind and misses are towards middle of plate. Struggles to put guys away when
behind, shys away from throwing FB in critical counts. Works down in zone. Secondary offerings
are lackluster. Hooking of wrist allows him to spin a true CV but he has below avg velo on it and
he struggles to locate it. SL and CH both generic. Can't project with him much, FB may come
back a bit but he apparently has recovery issues and if he gets it back it would prob. be no better
than a 40 FB, I see it somewhere in the middle. Would have a hard time pitching with his stuff @
AA level but at his age it's tough to send him back to A ball for a third season. I'd start him out in
extended and try and get him fully healthy before sending him out. AA tops.
