Righty who needs a lot of work. Very athletic build. Gd lean body. Built similar to Joe Mays.
Hides ball very well in phonebooth deliv. Sits back over rubber well. Gd direction and body
control thru deliv. Everything is under control and releases fully. BP throwing A/A, long circle in
back and then pulls ball up to throw from ear. Hides ball very well in back. Very little feel for ball
@ release and what it is doing as it leaves hand. FB short on strikes. Throws it @ hitting speed.
Plays up a bit with deception in back. Sinker with little cut to it. Sits @ 85. Near poor CV ball
serves as primary breaking ball when SL is better. Completely 1/2 of them up and to glove side-to
backstop or possibly hitting batters. No consis. to release point. Poor command. SL is better than
CV, soft for SL but in line with his 3 FB. CH is used seldom. Similar release issues as he has with
his other offerings. Can get it over plat @ times which saves it from being a flat 3. Very inconsis.
from pitch to pitch. No obvious deliv. problems. Rhythmic worker who can be effectively wild.
Don't know if command will ever be where it needs to be. Needs to head back to High A next yr
where he will turn 25 @ midseason. I can't see him being able to pitch in AA in his current form.
