2005 Update:
CF who grows on you the more you see him. Saw him tired @ end of yr in limited look, diff.
guy. Much better after offseason of rest. Excel. body. Long and lean. Graceful movements.
Similar to Steve Finley minus power. More crouched stance and setting up closer to plate
although still too far off IMO. Doesn't believe pitch on outer 1/2 is a strike. Gd swing. Wraps bat
a bit but makes gd contact. Batspd below avg and has some trouble around on plus stuff. Sits
back well on offspd pitches and sprays balls to entire field. More power than u would think but
he seems content to stay with contact approach late in count. Lets it all go early in count and gets
notic. longer. Avg arm works in CF. Very controlled in roaming OF. Excell. instincts and first
step. Uses plus speed to cover lots of ground and make tough catches look routine. Moves back
on ball ok. Prob. doesn't profile as everyday CF-while D is plus, plus D is pretty much standard
for big league CF and when coupled with short power and prob. only 50 hitting abil. he slots
more into a 4th OF/Late inning replacement. Gd ballplayer.
