2005 Update:
Gd baseball player with ability to play all over field. Same lean build. Prob. not going to fill out
much more, narrow frame limits it a bit. Orlando Hudson body. Balanced wristy swing. Gd hd
eye allows him to get ft. down early and rely on hds to move the ball around the field. Batspd
below avg. Chases low soft breaking balls. Best approach is to use middle of field and take
advantage of his plus speed. More thump in bat this yr. There is a threat now that he can run
into a poorly located below avg FB. Player who needs to spend some time at every level in
order to allow bat to catch up. Plate disc. still short, gets beat by BB's, no outward swing flaws
that are preventing him from making contact. Can play everywhere on field except behind plate
and he has the hds, feet and arm to do it at some point. Throwing better this yr. at the expense
of a bit of accuracy. Lacks consis. with glove to have him playing up middle on daily basis,
tries to do too much @ times and hurries throws occ. when turning DP's. Lacks pure CF angles
and routes but plus speed will mask some of it. Lack of specialization has prob. hurt his
consis. with leather but it's also main thing he has in his favor. Can play the game. Gd instincts
and always plays hard. Power doesn't profile and strike zone judgement will become an issue
@ upper levels. He's not getting any younger. Should head back to AA next yr as a utility
player off bench. Org value.
