Comments:
Older RHP with CH and feel. A few pounds heavier and stronger than last yr. Still long and lean
frame. Prob. not going to get much bigger. Lower 1/2 still restricted a bit by cross body landing.
Tucks hip as moves back over rubber and sweeps leg out to landing. Funky but manages to repeat
actual deliv. well which allows him to throw lots of strikes. Keeps weight back well from side.
Will vary arm slots with all of his pitches. Arm works much cleaner in back than last yr. Was
throwing stiffly from his hip last yr, more of a defined circle with arm and less tension. Will vary
length of A/A depending on what he is throwing and what slot it comes out of. FB improved over
course of season. Sits @ 86. Ok if he stays on top of it and releases out front to keep ball down.
Works FB to both sides of plate. Really doesn't pitch w/FB, uses it to setup CH. CV ball now
looks like better of two breaking balls. True breaker when he throws from H3/4 slot, needs to keep
it soft (68-9) in order to keep it from overlapping into his SL. Inconsis. from outing to outing for
me, sometimes it's sharp with some snap and other nights it's a spinning dot. SL is thrown in a
wide velo range. Throws 90% from side slot.  Hard to keep it from becoming slurvy from side,
lazy sweep. Lacks frisbee action you want from that angle. Inconsis. w/occ. poor loc. CH is bread
and butter. Helped tremendously by improved FB as compared to last yr. Gd armspd and
deception with hard sink and fade to his armside. Strikeout pitch for him. Keeps it low in zone
and induces soft contact if put in play. Gives up way too many hits. Gets hit mostly on hanging
breaking balls. Would prob. find most success by being a pure two pitch guy with heavy emphasis
on CH. Don't expect gaudy K:BB ratios to continue but he has little trouble getting ball over
plate-worried that he'll start pitching away from contact as more advanced hitters miss fewer and
fewer mistakes. Nibbles a lot as it is. Tough competitor who fights back from slow starts in early
innings. Old for level, should be pushed to see how far change will take him. Looks like a solid 4A
pitcher, don't see big league time.
